Biya and Jeune Afrique: The truth, the shameful truth and nothing but the truth

Paul Biya and his men were recently taken aback when Paris-based French language international news magazine Jeune Afrique put its foot down at the ongoing political blunders in Cameroon to insist that Biya should step aside.

When a committee of CPDM media experts including those of the Diaspora such as Cameroun info.net went to work recently to map out ways of challenging the authoritative news magazine, the CPDM gang was caught napping with no position to state to the Cameroon people.

What did Jeune Afrique say? After 30 years in power Biya still cannot provide answers to a worrying cocktail of unemployed and helpless youth, life expectancy is lower than the Ahidjo days, an ageing Francophone Beti-Ewondo ruling political class extremely lacking in administrative finesse and a majority of the Cameroonian people living far below UN poverty line.

The Editor-in-Chief Bechi Ben Yahmed has revealed that the Biya family has amassed wealth for even unborn children. Yet, some Cameroonians want us to believe that these are not objective analysis of the prevailing situation of the country.

Biya and his ill equipped media team have openly attacked Jeune Afrique and its editor claiming the paper is now hostile because President Biya no longer waters billions of Fcfa to French based media outlets. They even told the world that President Biya refused paying 350 million Fcfa to a Portuguese mercenary Jose Alberto Fernandez- the man Jeune Afrique had named as participated in the abduction of former Cameroon coup leader Guerandi Mbara.

For the first time ever, the Cameroonian people now know that the Biya regime and Jeune Afrique had an agreement whereby the Cameroon government pays 629 million Fcfa to Jeune Afrique on a monthly basis to project the image of the head of state in France. The Biya propaganda machinery is proud to tell the Cameroonian people that the presidency has not honoured the arrangement for the last 4 years.

These are revelations that the Francophone Beti-Ewondo government wants the Cameroonian people to take lying down!!! Some have even suggested that it is because of the refusal by President Biya to pay Jeune Afrique that prompted the paper to adopt a hostile attitude towards the president and his family.

There is really nothing to write home!! Let Ahidjo come and see the damage he has done to the Cameroon people by given us a monstrous liability of a president called Mr Biya.
