‘To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven ‘(Ecclesiastes 3:1)
It is said that the only thing constant in this life, is change. But embracing this change is a difficult thing to do as it involves uncertainty, into the realm of the unknown. But life can be likened to a journey; like a bus on trip which has to make several mandatory stops.
These stops are needed for passengers who have exhausted their fares to alight and others who have gained the right of entry to get on board.
The times and seasons also signal the time for some aspects of our lives to finally see completion whilst others aspects begin or develop. It can be in terms of career change; relocating to another area; relationship or life in general. In the midst of these fluxes seek the counsel of the creator just like you will consult a manufacturer’s manual to know how to best use a device. That is reflected in Psalm 16:11;
You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. But alas no one said our times on earth will be rosy or without challenges. That is the fact of life, we simply have to confront the challenges head on and make the most of the opportunities therein. But when we are feeling overwhelmed, let us take consolation in the fact that like David we can be rest assured in Psalm 23:
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou prepared a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointed my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
So ‘there is hope for the future, says the Lord’ (Jeremiah 31:17). Let us embrace the new beginnings in our lives with hope and firm conviction that our best is yet to come. Happy new beginning in whatever endeavours you may pursue. Cheers to a happy ending by God’s grace and mercies.
