Shawarma! Shawarma! Shawarma! It’s lovely isn’t it?

Shawarma is popularly known as street food because it can be purchased quickly from street vendors and consumed at once.

Though its recipes and ingredients differ from point to point, it is mostly made of meat, a whitish sauce, and various spices(onions, tomatoes, green beans, e.t.c.) which are all wrapped together in a piece of flat-bread usually referred to as French/Senegalese bread.

In Arabic, shawarma is a verb that means, "to turn". The first place to have served shawarma was the Turkish city of Bursa. It was invented in the 19th century and quickly gained popularity as it was adopted by nearby societies and today it is eaten almost all over the World.

Most times, shawarma meat is cooked on a vertical turning spit. Thin slices of meat — commonly chicken, beef, lamb, or goat — are arranged on the spit in a cone-shape, with the wide end on top. The spit is turned above or in front of a heating element. Occasionally, the meat is cooked over a charcoal grill which slowly cooks the meat for at least one day, preferably two, especially if its beef."

Whao!!! even late at night I can get some good fast food for myself.... A Guy exclaimed at the UB junction Shawarma sales point.

In Buea, this meal is mostly seen around the Molyko main road. With specific locations as follows: infront of Las Vegas snack bar, next to Orange, infront of Bonga Juice, adjacent to UB Junction and infront of Police Molyko. I strongly recommend this to all lovers of a balanced diet.
