The University of Yaounde I Teaching Hospital in the Melen neighbourhood of Yaounde now has a new Deputy General Manager in the person of Dr Ntone Enyime Félicien. He was commissioned on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, by Prof. Jacques Fame Ndongo, the Minister of Higher Education and Board Chair of the health facility.
This followed Dr Ntone’s appointment on November 16, 2015, by President Paul Biya, replacing retired Prof. Kathleen Ngu Blackett, who occupied the position since 1999. In his charge to the new Deputy General Manager, Prof. Fame Ndongo urged him to bring his wealth of experience into play to help turn around the fortunes of the institution. He implored Dr Ntone to continue the work started by his predecessor, hailing Prof. Blackett for serving the institution with devotion since 1983.
Dr Ntone Enyime Félicien is a 1980 graduate of the defunct University Centre for Health Sciences, today the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Yaounde I.
