Unwanted pregnancy and equality between boys and girls was on discussion yesterday June 5, 2016 at the Cameroon Cultural Centre in Yaounde.
Organised by the Association for Young Girls and Mother of Cameroon (AJFMC), the debate fell within activities to commemorate the “Week of Charity” spearheaded by the association’s members.
Within three years in the fight against early pregnancy through sensitisation, education and the social reinsertion of young mothers, members of the association realised the need to stress on the problems surrounding early pregnancy and for the society to come together and find solutions to curb early pregnancy in Cameroon.
During discussions, it was stressed that the know-how of girls needs to be reinforced so that they have an upper hand to their own destiny. In this way they will effectively contribute to the development of the country.
