Southwest Regional mini interpools clubs known

Eight clubs in the Southwest Regional Division II League will take part in this year’s Mini Interpools tourney which will kick-off on Saturday, October 24, 2015.

Out of the 19 teams that took part in the championship, divided into three pools; eight got their tickets for the knock-out phase of the championship. The eight teams will contest for the lone ticket to represent the Region at the National Interpools.

After close to seven months of competition, the league ended on October 19. The last day was full of fireworks, with seven teams securing their places for the play-offs while EEMSA beat Little Foot 4-0 to pick the last ticket on Sunday, October 18.

Also, some clubs had to battle hard to escape relegation into Regional Division III championship.

Out of the eight teams taking part in this year’s play-offs, four are from Buea, two from Limbe and Ekona and Tiko have one team each.

The clubs are University of Buea FC, Botafogo AFC of Buea, Victoria United FC, Best Stars FC, Continental FC, Prisons Social Club of Buea, Ekona United FC and EEMSA.

Big names like Mount Cameroon FC, Buea United and Kumba Lakers all failed to grab a ticket for the play-offs. Also, after an outstanding performance in the Cup of Cameroon, Cinyodev of Buea also failed to grab a qualification ticket.

All matches will take place at the Limbe Centenary Stadium on October 24 and 25.
