Guillaume Soro on a working visit to Cameroon

The President of the Ivorian National Assembly, Guillaume Soro has begun a five day working visit in Cameroon.

The Ivorian official arrived Cameroon yesterday 10th June 2014 He told the press that his visit is to reinforce parliamentary cooperation between Cameroon and the Cote d’ Ivoire and also respond to an invitation from Cameroon’s lower house speaker, Honourable Cavaye Yeguie Djibril.

According to the program schedule, the august quest shall address the National Assembly later this day, 11th June 2014 and in the course of his stay, hold discussions with a number of personalities in the country.

It is worth noting that Cameroon and the Cote d’Ivoire have reinforced bilateral cooperation recently.

Guillaume Soro is the third personality to visit Cameroon in less than two months.

His visit comes after that of the Ivorian Minister of Communication and the Ivorian Minister of Defence.

A detachment of the Ivorian army also took part in Cameroon’s national day celebration on 20th May, 2014.

These visits were preceded by that of the President of Côte d’Ivoire last year.

Mr Alasane Ouattara joined his peers in the sub-region to discuss security in the gulf of guinea during the summit meeting organized in Yaounde in June 2013.

Guillaume Soro is the second personality in the Ivorian government.

The 42 year Honorable was elected president of the Ivorian National Assembly in March 2012.

He has been Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Minister of Communication before elected President of the National Assembly.
