Konye MP promises to transform constituency

The Honourable Member of Parliament for Meme West Constituency, Hon. Atinda Martin has promised to transform Konye and Mbonge into an “El Dorado”. The promise was made on Saturday May 10, 2014 in Koba his native village in Konye Sub-Division during a “Thank You and Home-Coming”.

Hon. Atinda Martin, in his congratulatory message to the people, said they should put aside their political differences, stop backstabbing and blackmailing and face the challenges of the day if they all want to succeed. He said if they put all hands on deck and work collectively then they will be able to meet up with development challenges.

“There is no other way to adequately express my profound gratitude than to organise this ceremony to heartily thank all of you for every sacrifice and endeavour you took to achieve this victory,” the MP stated. He also thanked President Paul Biya for the achievements so far accomplished. He invited the population to not only collectively celebrate their well-deserved victory but also bury and forget the animosities amongst themselves that emanated from the hotly contested senatorial, legislative and municipal elections.

Hon. Atinda opined that elections have come and gone so they should remain as one people, one history and one future. He called on the people to strive for unity so as to ensure the progress and prosperity not only of the Meme people but of the Nation at large.

Hon. Atinda Martin, however, pledged to listen to opinions and criticisms whenever or wherever it comes from, to enhance development in his constituency. Other speakers at the ceremony included Hon. Chief Justice Benjamin Itoe and Mrs. Ndoh Bertha, Special Adviser at the Prime Minister’s Office.
