« My Party Is Almost Ready »

Issa Tchiroma Bakary, Chairman of the National Salvation Front.

"The Head of State, in accordance with the Constitution, has summoned Cameroonians to be ready to cast their ballot to designate who will be in the National Assembly or councils. The convening of the Electoral College did not come as a surprise. As a political party, we are ready at anytime to follow the unfolding of political events. When you're versed with the laws governing the electoral system like the Constitution and the Electoral Code, you are but sure and ready at any time when the Head of State takes a decision. As far as my party is concerned, we are ready.

No doubt, the battle will be tough. All the over 300 political parties in the country should be getting set for the battle. Believe me, the fight will be one of the toughest. For presidential elections, a handful of people, trustworthy and reliable compete but as far as legislative and council elections are concerned, all the political parties are ready to fight. My party is almost ready and we are about to put some order so as to deliver the results. To fight successfully, one needs to have the means and this is not something that comes very easily. But we are ready to stand in some carefully selected constituencies. We have carved out some few constituencies where we are going to compete with other political parties."
