Profile - Ben Achu Fru Ndi, Poised to Emerge in Development Politics

Soft spoken, unassuming and available. That is the image which Benjamin Achu Fru Ndi carries around as a candidate on the SDF council list for Bamenda II which covers the villages of Mankon, Chomba, Mbatu and Nsongwa.

Simple and diminutive in height but daring, he is the Benjamin of SDF National chairman, Fru Ndi's nine children. Barely 27, Ben, as he is fondly called, is trying his hand in what he describes as development politics. That is what inspired him to compete and emerge winner during the SDF primaries in the neighbourhood of the Ntarinkon central ward of the party where he has been militating since 1999.

Benjamin Achu Fru Ndi does not dissociate from his father's activities, fame and daring attitude. He is visible as a regular part of SDF chairman Fru Ndi's entourage in private and official outings, but remains focused as a youth with the personal ambition to emerge in politics of development.

From the Bamenda general hospital where he was born on 1st March 1986, Ben is a product of Sacred Heart College, Mankon, University of Southampton and University of Birmingham, U.K where he emerged with a first degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law. He is still thirsty for education with efforts to land a Masters degree in International development from the school of Oriental and African studies in the United Kingdom.
