SW Opposition Supporters Decamp to CPDM

The political carpet-crossing is a fallout of the CPDM proximity campaign strategy.

As the countdown to the September 30 twin polls narrows, the ruling CPDM seems to have a stronger force as the party has succeeded in attracting opposition militants into its camp.

Reports from the various divisions of the region indicate that militants of some opposition parties notably the SDF, PAP, UNDP amongst others have joined the ruling CPDM. In Menji, Lebialem Division, reports from the CPDM Divisional campaign team leader, Senator Fon Fonten Njifua Lucas states that some 57 youth leaders decamped from the PAP to join the CPDM.

In Fako just like in Kupe Muanengube similar reports are bound. In Limbe II Council area for instance, a handful of militants from the UNDP party publicly declared their enthusiasm to belong to the CPDM party during a campaign rally in the Ngeme Subsection. They were all dressed up in CPDM party regalia.

A delegation of women from Mokunda and the Nganya group paid a courtesy visit to Ngeme CPDM Subsection President, Felix Dieudonné Seppoh to thank to express their loyalty and support to him for providing jobs to their children and support their various meeting groups. The women pledged their support to the CPDM party and promised a massive turn out on polling day.

The Limbe II CPDM campaign team leader, Ndive Molugu Thomas on his part, underlined the achievements of the CPDM led government in the area notably the cement factory, the SONARA extension; the shipyard amongst others which he said will create more jobs for the youths of the area. The Head of State, he went on needs their grassroots support to have a comfortable majority in the National Assembly and local governance to enable him accomplish his greater realization programme. Mr. Ndive called on militants to collect their voters' cards and vote massively for the CPDM party.
