UNDP Prepares for Campaigns

The Union for Democracy and Progress (UNDP) of Bello Bouba Maïgari after emerging victorious in the August 19 to 22, 2013 ruling on pre-electoral litigations at the Administrative Bench of the Supreme Court with the reinstatement of some of their lists, is now focusing on how well to outsmart their opponents in the constituencies and council areas targeted for September 30 twin elections.

"Now that we have all the lists of our political party accepted, we are going to put in place strategies into reality," the party's Secretary General, Senator Pierre Flambeau Ngayap told Cameroon Tribune on August 22, 2013. The party is also bracing up to choose polling station representatives and those for sub-divisions. But to achieve its objectives of countering election fraud, Flambeau Ngayap pointed out that the UNDP will in the coming days train party personnel, especially those that will be at polling stations.

Campaigning, the party SG said, was going to move mountains especially towards the D-day. We are working towards drawing up campaign strategies that can impact the public in real life. "We are keeping the most capacities to convince voters," he said. He however, revealed that the UNDP is out to champion the course of citizens by seeking solutions to their problems. Problems, he said, were mostly social and involved the unavailability of potable water to all and increased unemployment.
