Aissatou M., 19, lost her three children in a fire that destroyed her home in Nkoabang.
According to the testimony of neighbors, it was around 9 AM that they heard the cries of the children from the house built in recycled materials. Upon arrival at the scene, the flames had already destroyed much of the building. They then weaved an opening in order to save the children.
Unfortunately, the horror that ended their efforts was 4 years old Adamou A. and 2 years old F. Abdou were laying near the door, while Princess Asta K., 2 months is in the corner of the house. All burnt to ashes.
On her return, the mother said she locked the children to move quickly to the market and get food stuffs, she said in a voice barely audible.
On the part of the gendarmerie in Nkoabang, preliminary investigations reveal that the kerosene stove is the cause of the fire. The children had to turn it on, either for fun, or so to warm food. The stove, the pot and its contents were found destroyed says our source.
Investigations are ongoing.
