The incident occurred during the weekend after a heavy duty truck crossed passed the Bafembe Bridge linking Wum to Bamenda.
As a result of this, Road users who normally use vehicles were forced to take bikes.
North west Governor Lele l’Afrique who visited the site instructed Public Works officials to resort to strict measures so to resume circulation within the short period of time.
He further revealed that the government has already made available a sum of 800million FCFA to rehabilitate the Bamenda wum stretch of road which has for long been in a deplorable state.
Because of the bad nature of the road the Governor together with his entourage drove for three hours from Bamenda on the said highway which is normally a 36 miles journey.
For the mean time, people longing to get to Wum through vehicles only have to go through the Bafoumen- Foundong stretch of road while fine-tune a temporal solution.
