Fako SDO woos youths to government

Fako Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, Zang III, has applauded the colourful match pass ceremony displayed by the youth of the division, and urged them to remain solidly behind President Paul Biya, in his vision to transform the nation to an emergent nation by 2035.

Zang III, after chairing the ceremony marking the national youth day on February 11 in the Limbe I subdivision, said he was quite satisfied with the dynamism and patriotism of the youth and told them to remain hopeful and confident in the government, as it is working out things for their good.

“The youths should reflect on the Head of State’s message to them because it is like a bible. There is hope in it, and they must have hope in the Head of state and the measures he is taking to ensure the socio-economic development of our country”, Zang said.

As the youth, including other stakeholders of all walks of life flooded the Manga-Williams avenue to celebrate the 49th edition of youth day under the theme, Youth and the preservation of peace for an emerging Cameroon, the message of the Head of State was rebroadcasted, after which the match pass commenced.

The ceremony was led by the blog of Flag Bearers, Coat of Arms, Effigy of the Head of State, and the Theme. This was followed by the Cameroon National Youth council of the division, Scout and Red Cross.

In total, there were 13 government nursery schools, 11 Mission Schools and 31 lay-private, with 25 government primary schools, 15 Missions and 31 lay-private. Also, there were four government secondary schools, three mission and 14 lay-private secondary schools.

Others included youth centers, professional schools, youth groups and the CPDM political party.

During the match-pass, various messages provided by the Limbe City Council were displayed by youths, with messages centering on the theme, bilingualism, health, environment, culture and socio-economic development.

A cocktail offered by the SDO and award of prizes to deserving schools, crowned the celebration in the Limbe I sub division.

Limbe II The match pass took place immediately after the replay of the president’s speech. It began with the government necessary schools followed with the private schools.

Thereafter, the primary schools continued followed by the secondary schools. The colour display by the various schools witnessed a lot of applause from the massive population.

The Divisional Officer of Limbe II sub division, Douga Emaran, concerning the theme of the celebration, said “Youths and the preservation of peace is actually an ideal theme due to the threats in the Northern Region of Cameroon where, Boko Harram terrorists are causing the lives of youths who are fighting against the group”.

He thus urged the youths to be vigilant concerning terrorist attacks, since Limbe is a border town. “Since we are in the border, we should make sure that these groups do not succeed in penetrating our border”. He added.

In his message to the youths, the DO said, “My message for the youths is to promote manual labour and develop more skills in technical training in other milieu”.

Limbe III Youths pledge to join BIR in Battling Boko Haram Meanwhile Youths in the Limbe III Sub-Division, have pledged their support in combating the common enemy Boko Haram in words, songs and written messages as the passed by the Man O War Bay Grandstand, combating Boko Haram was their phrase.

The Divisional Officer for Limbe III, Sone Clement Ngoe told the population of Limbe III that the youths have a great role to play as far as the peace and security of the nation is concerned.

Fallen Soldiers of the Rapid Intervention Unit ad Late Mayor Isaac Inongo Dalle were also immortalised in the songs by the pupils and students from as far as the creeks of Mabeta.

The Mayor of Limbe III, Barrister Nseke Luma on his part cued from the Divisional Officer to say the president of the republic is bent on providing job opportunities to Cameroonian youths hence they should be patriotic.

Mayor Nseke noted that for emergence by 20135, the youths have to be in focus and take advantage of the opportunities at their disposal.
