A three-day capacity building seminar on the prevention of cyber criminality has opened in Yaounde.

The seminar that opened this Wednesday 19th August 2015 brought together experts from the national and international scenes.

The seminar is organised to build the capacity of experts on the latest in fighting cyber crimes and secure online data.

In the advent of the use of smartphones and the Information and Communication Technologies, cyber crimes have witness an upsurge prompting the government of Cameroon to take appropriate measures to combat the ills.

Speaking during the opening of the three-day seminar, the representative of the Minister of Post and Telecommunications urged the participants to work hand in hand and propose measures needed to fight the cankerworm.

Cyber criminality, it is worth noting, is a major impediment to the development of developing countries like Cameroon.

At the end of the three-day discussion, proposals tabled will be forwarded to the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications for validation and consequent implementation.
