A former lecturer of the National Advanced School of Posts and Telecommunications, Buea Annex, Valentine Mbom Ataindum, is the new traditional ruler of Bochain village in Njinikom Subdivision, Boyo Division of the Northwest Region.
The former lecturer was recently handed power in his village during an installation ceremony that was witnessed by a mammoth crowd.
While installing the new traditional ruler, the Senior Divisional Officer of Boyo congratulated him and beseeched him to collaborate with the administration. He used cationed councillors of the area to limit themselves to solving matters of common interest. To the SDO, criminal matters should be left to the constituted courts.
Addressing the population, the newly enthroned Chief thanked the public and implored them to co-operate with him to ensure the harmonious development of the entire village. He advised the village to turn over a new leaf so that, together, they could build the village in which posterity will be proud of.
“We must cultivate love, peace and unity for any meaningful development to take place. With all hands on deck, we shall overcome,” the new chief said.
The Parish Priest who officiated mass at the beginning of the event, noted that a God-fearing people shall build without worry.
The new Chief of Bochain Village, Bo Nteh Mbom Valentine was trained as an Inspector of Posts and Telecommunications at the National Advanced School of P & T in Yaounde and at the International Centre for Management Studies in Toulouse, France.
Upon his return to Cameroon, he worked variously as Chief of Service in the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, Postmaster, Chief of Parcels Centre, Douala Port, Regional Chief of Postal Services in Maroua. Before his retirement, he was Lecturer at the National Advanced School of Posts and Telecommunications, Buea Annex.
