Inmates of the Buea prison receive a consignment of gifts

The Prison Fellowship Cameroon in partnership with the Chantal Biya Foundation has donated a consignment of gifts to prisoners of the Buea and Muyuka prison.

The gifts which contain cartons of vegetable oil and soap, bags of salt, didactic material, cooked food, and other items, were distributed to the following detention facilities in the South West Region;Buea Central and Upper Farms Prisons, and the Bavenga prison in the Muyuka Sub-Division.

The President of the association NanaAbunaw Marie officially handed the gifts to competent authorities.

She promised financial aid to inmates who are students stating that funds shall be made available to enable them seat in for the 2015Cameroon General Certificate of Educationexamination GCE.

The detainees were also admonished to be well behaved and disciplinedand to spend the period in custody as a moment of reflection.

A representative of all the inmates,Loke Williams expressed gratitude to Prison Fellowship Cameroon and to the Chantal Biya Foundation for the gifts.

While promising to abide by the rules and regulationsenforce he called on competent authorities to organise workshops needed to upgrade thecreative skills of inmate for an easy integration after they are released.
