Dango Abdourahim, 50, and Egui Amadou, 45, were abducted in the night of 23 to 24 June 2016. They regained their freedom after two days of captivity.

Two shepherds (Abdoulahim Dango, 50, and Amadou Egui, 45) have just been released from the hands of their captors. They were taken from the lawless men on June 26, 2016.

They recovered freedom thanks to the support of local people and concerted actions of the vigilante committee and elements of the 31st motorized infantry brigade of Ngaoundere. The latter attacked the locality of Mandourou (Martap subdivision) where the criminals had taken their victims.

The results of this operation by captain Djamfan reported two killed captors, one AK 47 rifle, two boxes of ammunition magazines and 7 millimeters, knives, chains and drugs recovered. The shepherds were abducted on the night of June 23 to 24 at their workplace, in Ngaoundere.

Four gunmen with military rifles had stormed their workplace, chained them before driving them to Mandourou.

Abductions of this kind are common in the Adamawa Region. In general, the kidnappers demand ransom from the rich or wealthy farmers. The security forces did not spare their efforts in their fight against this scourge.
