The 'Roger Milla heart of Africa Foundation' was at Lycée bilingue Mabanda on Thursday, December 11, 2014 in the District of Douala 4th for the laying of the first stone on the construction project of a bore hole which it offered to the institution.

This initiative financially supported by Guinness Cameroon is part of the program "Water for kids" Foundation which aims to improve the living conditions of students with drinking water. "The project is a response to solve water problems in schools in Cameroon", noted Jean Keller Kotte, Director of projects at the Roger Milla Foundation.

The construction of this bore hole will last 12 months. This water project will not only serve the school but also the surrounding populations through 8 valves to be installed outside the establishment. "It's a community asset and heads of district or block should ensure the management of the equipment that will be put at their disposal," noted one of the project managers.

The drilling will be powered by solar energy. The "Roger Milla heart of Africa Foundation" also provides a processing unit to ensure the good quality of the produced water. The Foundation also intends to equip the school with modern latrines to ensure the safety and health of students who were forced to meet their needs outside the institution.

The Roger Milla heart of Africa Foundation works primarily in community development, psychosocial assistance, health, nutrition, sport, water and sanitation. Roger Milla, owner of this Foundation hopes to replicate this project in several other institutions. He would also establish settlements in sports facilities.
