Touboro indigenes rejoice over the sack of their Sous-Préfet

While awaiting the installation of the new Sous-Préfet, the population rejoiced over the sacking of the former.

Huge joy swept a good fringe of the population of Touboro, after the sacking of the former Sous-Préfet Souley Alim by a decree from the president of the Republic August 4, 2014.

Shortly after his sack was broadcast on CRTV Radio, crowd gathered to celebrate his departure. The Decree sounding the end of his reign in Touboro said he had been called to other functions.

"We danced, drank, and are expecting the day of the installation of his successor to celebrate more" revealed a native at the town of Touboro. For Sylvain H., another son of one of the largest districts of Cameroon, August 4, 2014 will be forever engraved in the minds of the people.

"This is a man who had turned his back on the people of Touboro to serve the lamido of Rey-Bouba. We are very happy with his departure," he added the sacking of Souley Alim follows numerous complaints by the populations against this civil administrator.

They blamed the sacked deputy for his silence before the abuses carried out on the populations the dogaris by his Majesty Aboubakary Abdoulaye. "He had for example been informed that the dogaris were preparing a coup against the population of Mbang-Rey, but he did nothing to prevent the clashes.

Touboro populations however, only retain bad memories of their former sous-prefet and are awaiting with joy the coming of the new head. "If the new sous-prefet comes to work with people, then each of us will be behind him to help in his missions.

We are not belligerent or going to war as some may think. We have suffered enough in the past to the atrocities of the lamido of Rey-Bouba and we want our freedom.

We hope that the new head will work for the prosperity and happiness of the sons and daughters of Touboro, said Alim Koumaï, Vice President of the collective Touboro youth for development.

Souley Alim was replaced at the head of this broad district by a certain Mamouda Ibrahima, former first assistant prefectural at the Department Mvila in Ebolowa, South region.
