Ultra modern library to be launched in Kikaikelaki

In a move to instill a reading culture on inhabitants of Bui Division in the North West Region of Cameroon, an ultra modern community Library will be launched in Kikaikelaki on August 29, 2014 in a colorful ceremony to be attended amongst others by His Excellency Roger Miller, the SDO for Kumbo, Nzeke Thoephile and His Royal Highness the Fon of Nso.

The launching ceremony will also feature live music by some renowned musicians like Prince Emil and Richard Kings.

The library which many have described as timely is the initiative of Ngamsha Vicky, an award winner entrepreneur and the winner of the volunteer award of the year for the University of Wolverhampton, Britain in 2011. She is also founder and Company director at VVL Extended Hands.

Explaining to this reporter the motivation behind this initiative, Ngamsha Vicky said when she was out in Cameroon last year she saw the need for a public Library in Kumbo.

“I grew up in Kumbo and throughout my education I realised that Kumbo had no Library and all the books are sold making it very difficult for the reading culture of our people. I came back to the Uk and started begging for books from schools and individuals,” she noted.

"Books that were going to be recycled in the UK have been collected and I have shipped 50 boxes of books to Kumbo to open the Kikaikelaki community library”

Baring in mind that the cost of education is a worrying factor to most parents and families especially when kids go back to school, Ngamsha Vicky has decided to produce exercise books, pens and pencils with her brand to be sold at very cheaper prices. The are already available and are sold at half price for all parents to help cut cost of kids going back to school.

Ngamsha Vicky who is also an international motivational speaker will be visiting 7 primary schools, 7 secondary schools, Two teachers training institutions, and the youths of Kumbo Diocese when schools resume to give motivational talks and donate some writing materials to the school children and students.
