Yaounde indigens shaken by explosion in Etoudi

The explosion in a domestic gas warehouse last Saturday night at Etoudi in Yaoundé district, has greatly affected Yaounde and its environs.

Apart from Etoudi, several districts in the region have been affected. Many areas in Yaoundé were plunged into darkness as the explosion altered electrical installations in the area. According to reports, one of the main high voltage transmission lines linking Ngousso and Kondengui blew up.

These two areas are presently deprived of energy supply. "Eneo Cameroon expressed sincere regrets to its customers for any inconvenience caused", a press release issued by Eneo stated.

The extent of the damage and the losses remain undetermined by the authorities who were on the scene but assured that investigations are ongoing to find the cause of the explosion as well as extent of demage.
