Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam have given an ultimatum to Samuel Eto’o, asking the former Chelsea striker to decide whether he wants to play for them or not, reported De Telegraaf on Wednesday.
Following talks in Paris, Ajax had made a solid offer to the 33-year old who was supposed to come back to them with an answer by Sunday.
But Eto’o’s representatives postponed the decision by one day, before stating that it could in fact take longer to clarify the player’s situation.
However, Ajax football director Marc Overmars has decided to throw the Cameroon star an ultimatum on Wednesday.
“The deadline is today 6 pm,” the former Dutch international said, as he wants to finalise a plan B as soon as possible should Eto’o turn down their offer or be unable to make up his mind.
