Former Royals star Andre Bikey has signed for Charlton Athletic.
The 29-year-old defender has penned a two-year deal with the Addicks having impressed while on trial during the club’s pre-season tour of Portugal.
Bikey had been a free agent after his contract with Greek Superleague side Panetolikos expired at the end of last season.
The Cameroon international spent two seasons with Reading after being signed by Steve Coppell in 2007.
He left Madejski Stadium for Burnley before joining Middlesbrough in 2012. A season at the Riverside followed but last summer he left England for a year in Greece.
Now he has opted to return, much to the delight of Charlton head coach Bob Peeters who said “He’s got experience of this league and we’re very happy to sign him.
“It’s important for people like Joe Gomez and Harry Lennon to be working with someone with his experience – they can learn from him.
“His knowledge of the Championship will be very important.”
