Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Roger Feutmba, says that he thinks Bafana Bafana play better football than Cameroon ahead of their 2017 AFCON qualifying fixture.
Speaking to Soccer Laduma in the latest edition, 965, Feutmba reveals that South Africa can expect to come up against a less talented Indomitable Lions side.
“The styles of play are quite different. Unlike Cameroon, Bafana Bafana have a better style of play. Cameroon are also not as strong as they used to be in Africa and do not have the talent of past squads.”
The former Masandawana man highlighted Bafana’s attacking game and intricate passing as their biggest attribute and also said that Bafana could have done with the services of an injured, Bidvest Wits man and an in-form Mamelodi Sundowns winger, who is said to have missed on selection, due to his priorities with the u23 squad.
“Most of Cameroon’s good midfield players are better defensively. Those players are, of course, Alex Song and Stephane Mbia.
“Bafana’s technically good players play quick, one-touch football with rhythm, and players like Thulani Serero and Andile Jali will pose a danger for Cameroon.”
“It is unfortunate that Sibusiso Vilakazi is injured. I thought Keagan Dolly was going to be dangerous against a team like Cameroon, but unfortunately he is not part of the team.”
If I can give you a prediction, I’d say the game in Limbe will be a draw and in the return leg in Durban Bafana will overcome Cameroon,” Feutmba concluded.
