Cameroon FA Cup quarter finalists known

The quarter finalists of the 2014 edition of the football cup of Cameroon are now known after the return leg 8th final matches that took place on Tuesday October 22.

The major surprise came from a Regional League Two side, Ouragan of Yaounde, who turned the tables overcoming a two-goal deficit in the away leg to butt out the reigning League Two champion, Dragon of Yaounde. After bowing 0-2 to Dragon in the away leg, Ouragan metamorphosed in the return le to beat Dragon in the return le leg 4-2 to qualify.

Apejes also beat newly promoted Lion Blessé to League One, 3-0 to qualify for the quarter finals. It was equally an easy walk over of the reigning leaders of the League One championship, Coton Sport who trounced Tonnerre of Yaounde 3-0. Relegation threatened Canon might use the cup competition to salvage their season give that they sail through be a hair’s breadth after playing a 2-2 draw with Fovu but qualifying on away goal advantage.

Kumbo Strikers are back in the contention for the cup title as they beat Dynamo 2-0 to qualify for the quarter finals.

The other qualified teams include, Douala Athletic Club who edged the other Lilliputian of the League One championship, Njalla Quan Academy, 1-0, Panther dismissed Avion of Nkam 2-0 to also pick up their qualification ticket and UMS of Loum beat Water Polo 2-1 to sail through.

The draws for the quarter finals was done on Friday, October 24 at the seat of the Cameroon Football federation in Tsinga-Yaounde.
