The Indomitable Lions will travel to Algeria in their group opener, before games against Nigeria and Zambia for a place in Russia
Hugo Broos reflected on the World Cup 2018 qualifying draw with a mixture of agony and optimism as Cameroon were zoned with Nigeria, Algeria and Zambia.
The Indomitable Lions crashed out of the 2014 World Cup group in Brazil, while the Super Eagles and the Desert Foxes dumped after the Round of 16.
The same cannot be said of Zambia who are hoping to secure their debut appearance at the global football showpiece, and the handler has agreed it is a hard-hitting group.
“This is the group of death and it’s a very difficult group, especially with a team like Algeria, you also have Zambia and Nigeria, three very good teams,” Broos told Caf website.
“It will be very difficult for each team in the group.
“We will see what happens on the opening days in in October and November,” he concluded.
Cameroon would be negotiating their way for an eight World Cup ticket since their debut appearance at the 1982 edition staged in Spain.
