The intentional defender will be sidelined for around eight weeks due to a knee injury.
Marseille’s Cameroonian defender Nicolas Nkoulou underwent a knee surgery on Monday that will rule him out of action for ‘a couple of months’, the French giants announced on Tuesday.
The international defender sustained the injury while playing with Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea, where the Indomitable Lions were eliminated from the first round.
The 25-year-old is a regular member in Marseille’s squad, having made 17 starts this season, scoring two goals.
