Everton and Crystal Palace are set to go head-to-head for Sochaux striker Karl Toko Ekambi in January, that’s according to reports in France.
The Cameroonian striker has impressed in France’s second tier, scoring 17 goals for his current club last season and has already scored three this campaign.
Everton scouts are said to have been in attendance to watch the frontman this term, and that could set up a bidding war with Alan Pardew’s Palace, who are also said to be keen.
The player is said to be available for a bargain fee of around £2m and he wouldn’t need a work permit as he already holds a French passport.
Ekambi, who won his first cap for Cameroon this year, joined Sochaux from Paris FC in 2014. He’s been compared with West Ham star Diafra Sakho.
