Fifa 2014 WC - Mexico Edges Cameroon

One of the five Africa's representative at the ongoing FIFA world cup in Brazil, Cameroon were defeated by a lone goal by Mexico.

The match, played on Friday evening saw Mexico making most of the assaults and were in charge all through.

Oribe Peralta put the Americans ahead in the 61st minute after Giovani dos Santos unluckily had two goals ruled out by referee's assistant Humberto Clavijo before the interval.

Cameroon's Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting also had a goal disallowed in the first half.

Peralta's tap-in was enough to help bolster Mexico's hopes of reaching the last 16 for a sixth World Cup running, placing them second on the log behind Brazil.

On the other hand, Cameroon are left with a mountain to climb in terms of progression.
