The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon have qualified for the African Women Championship in Namibia 2014 after a narrow victory over Senegal at the Amadou Ahidjo Stadium on Sunday, June 8.
The Lionesses, who were pulled in a 1-1 draw against the Senegalese in Dakar in the away leg, were able to stamp their supremacy at the 68th minute with a goal from Francine Zouga.
Their performance at home was encouraging as they dominated the game from start to finish.
The 2014 African Women's Championship is scheduled to be held in Namibia.
This tournament is also a qualification tournament for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup, with top three qualifying for the finals in Canada. It will be played on 11–25 October 2014.
Cameroon has participated 8 times, emerging twice as runners-up, two times as third place team and 4 times as fourth place team. They have the second highest participation after Nigeria with 10.
