Joseph Owona sacks Adoum Garoua from Lion's Hotel

The President of the FIFA Normalization Committee, Joseph Owona has sacked the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Adoum Garoua from the hotel the Lions are lodged, after accusing him of refusing to spend money made available by the Government.

It is alleged that Adoum Garoua and Joseph Owona have been loggerheads since the delegation arrived Brazil. At the last meeting held at the Golden Tulip Hotel, the two leaders were copiously yelled at by stunned members of the Cameroonian delegation in Brazil.

Joseph Owona accuses the Minister of Sports for refusing to spend the money released by the Cameroon Government for the World Cup, which is believed to be circa FCFA 3 billion.

According to Owona, FECAFOOT was to handle the transportation of the Cameroon delegation to Brazil while Adoum Garoua handled the inter-transportation of the Cameroon delegation to the various stadiums where the Lions are playing.

Since the Minister said he could not spend more than what his boss, the Prime Minister, asked him to spend, Owona decided to chase the Minister out of the Golden Tulip hotel in Victoria-Brazil. Owona could do this since it was FIFA that had paid the lodging which will gradually be reduced from FECAFOOT budget.

Adoum Garoua, Senators and MPs who made up the Presidential Delegation all left the hotel and moved into another Hotel, still in Victoria.

For his part, Minister Garoua refused to allow the members of the Normalization Committee on board the plane to the Brazilian town of Manaus, complaining that FECAFOOT brought so many officials and as a result, the budget cannot cover everyone.

Meanwhile, Owona has also refused to show up for the Lions game in order not to meet The Minister of Sports and will be represented by Adolphe MINKOA.

It is alleged that FECAFOOT received FCFA 1.5 billion from FIFA and sponsors of the Indomitable Lions.

This money would have been sufficient but due to the excessive number of FECAFOOT officials taken to the World Cup, the money is insufficient.

It should be noted that the Lions World Cup expedition has been hit by so many scandals.

From Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik complaining of doctors giving a fake news about his health, players boycotting in Austria, players humiliating of Prime Minister Philemon Yang, players missing their flight because of bonus problems to Eto’o promising to expose those spoiling the National team to president Biya after the World Cup.
