Tough South Africa squad for Cameroon U20 tie on saturday

Shakes Mashaba has named his national U-20 squad for a crucial 2015 African Youth Championships (ACY) first leg qualifier against Cameroon on Saturday.

The match will take place at the Omnisports Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé, with kick-off at 15h00 local time (16h00 SA time).

The return duel is scheduled for Polokowane on 31 August, with the overall victor gaining entry to the 19th edition of the ACY, taking place in Senegal from 8-22 March. The top three finishers at the competition will represent Africa at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

Mashaba, who will take over the Bafana Bafana coaching reins at the end of the month, has made four changes to his unit, bringing in Khumbulani Mkhize, Morne Nel, Tshepo Chaine and Siyanda Ngubo for Jody February, Bandile Shandu, Yagan Sasman and Thembinkosi Mbamba.

Amajita recently returned from a four-nation tour of West Africa to prepare for the upcoming assignment. They drew 1-1 and 0-0 with Burkina Faso and Mali respectively, going down 1-0 to both Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire.

The squad will have a training session this morning at the Bedfordview training grounds.

Amajita depart for Cameroon in the early hours of Thursday morning.
