A brace from brothers Jordan and Andrew Ayew and a record 1500th tournament goal by Mubarak Wakaso ushered Ghana into the final of the 30th Orange Africa Cup of Nations as they defeated hosts Equatorial Guinea 3-0 in Malabo.
Play was halted eight minutes from time in this Africa Cup of Nations semi-final as missiles were thrown on the pitch by some disgruntled home supporters.
At one end of the ground, Ghana fans came off the terraces to seek shelter behind one of the goals after objects were hurled at them by rival supporters.
The winners of the match will face Ivory Coast in Sunday's final.
Wakaso's goal, his side’s second goal against the hosts goes into the history books as the player to have achieved that historic feat.
Former Nigeria midfielder, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha it will be recalled scored the 1000th goal of the Africa Cup of Nations at the 2004 edition during the group phase meeting with South Africa on 31 January 2004 at the Mustapha Ben Jannet Stadium in Monastir.
