We want to bring CAF Cup to supporters - Da Rosa

Cotonsport Coach, Didier Gomes Da Rosa has said Cotonsport is aiming to bring the CAF Cup finals to their supporters in Garoua, reason they want to finish top of their group.

“My objective is to finish on top of our group, Al Ahly may also finish first in their group and it is interesting for us to go and play the first leg outside and to meet an opponent that is of the same calibre as Al Ahly, so we are ready for any eventuality”.

Cotonsport two weeks ago succumbed to a 0-4 bashing in the hands of AS Leopard but still have high hopes of topping their group.

Presently, Cotonsport tops Group A with 10 points two points adrift AS Leopard and are billed to play against As Real of Mali over the week-end.

Talking about the local Championship League 1, Da Rosa said, “We know our matches would be lined up one after the other, we know it is difficult but we have to play this way.

He said, to play the Champions League they have to win the local Championship. “Our priority is the League 1 Championship, but we want to bring the Confederations Cup finals to our supporters”.

Commenting on the Cotonsport Cup of Cameroon match against Botafogo, he attested, that it was a difficult match, but Cotonsport controlled the game for about 90 minutes.

“It is true that we tried to impose ourselves by the opponent played long balls. We understand why they are on the top spot on the Elite II table. We knew we had to respect them, and Botafogo honoured their position”.

However, he concluded that Cotonsport showed a better mastery of the game despite the tiredness saying it is interesting for his group that is growing.
