Thursday March 24, 2016 Bamenda will host one of the highly contested professional league one matches counting for day eight of the 2016 season. The game is 8th placed Yong Sport Academy YOSA and 2nd placed Union Sportive de Douala. Though a delayed fixture due to Union’s involvement in a continental assignment, the game is generating a lot of effervescence as it is at the center of almost every conversation in Bamenda.
Arriving Bamenda Wednesday 23, March,2016 after traveling in the country from Mali, Union’s team captain Kombi Manjang, striker Davide Eto’o and Head coach Siwe gave a pre-match press conference during which they declared their intention to beat YOSA in Bamenda.
Quizzed on why such a strong determination Coach Siwe explained that last year (2015) his team failed emerging champions of Cameroon because they could not win YOSA in Bamenda. According to the coach YOSA was bought over by those who eventually became champions.
Mindful of the fact that Cotonsport was first and Union second, it could simply be understood that he meant Contonsport paid their way to the top.
Just returning to the country, Coach Siwe insinuated tiredness and requested his players to eat and take a rest. he blames the tiredness mostly on the bad road to Bamenda and their CAF champions league game from where they were eliminated over the weekend.According to David Eto'o his major worry will be to manage Kongnyuy Jude team captain for YOSA with whom they played in the junior lions. Coach Siwe also expressed fears over Moghu Ghislain and Ojong Ekuri (left) as players to watch out for. He however indicated that he wanted the boys for his team because they could fit in the Union project of wining the championship tittle they lost last year
