Volley-ball: Lionesses entertain first defeat

The Cameroon Volley-ball Lionesses have been beaten by the Canadian team in their opening game of ongoing Female World Volley-ball Championship in Italy by 3 sets - 1.

Cameroon is playing in Pole B against Canada, Brazil, Bulgaria, Serbia and Turkey.

The One hour forty-nine minute volley-ball match that took place in Trieste, Italy left the lionesses wanting in both the first and second halves of play, leading to ninety-five point against sixty-six and a two set loss and a one wine 25-12, 25-15, 25-14.

The young Cameroonian team with the oldest player 26-years of age is the vice-champions of Africa. The set won during the game was due to the extra effort put up by Christelle Nana Tchoudjang who scored fourteen points out of twenty scored by Cameroon. She plays in France with Chameliere.

Laetitia Moma who plays with Schweriner in Germany was another Cameroonian who put up a brilliant performance against Canada, Scoring eight points on twenty.

Jean-Rene Akono, the Lionesses coach told the press after the match that he is determined do better in their second match against Brazil in Palatrieste.
