The West region has the lion’s share with four league one clubs and one league two club, followed by the Littoral and centre with three League One clubs. Of all the ten Regions, only the East and Far North regions are not represented. The delegates were designated by 32 of the 35 members who constitute the general assembly of the Professional League. The only absences were those of Scorpion of Bé and Ngoketundja of Ndop.

Regional elections

In a related development, in a press briefing on Friday, the president of the Normalisation Committee of Fecafoot, Joseph Owona says he is satisfied with the conduct of the elections at the Divisional and Regional levels.

He said the elections were conducted in respect of the electoral code as stipulated in the statutes of the federation and according to directives given by the Normalisation Committee. “We have done our job correctly in accordance with the regulations, general statutes, electoral law and the law of 2011,” said Owona. “We are on the right orbit and we are going to make sure that the rules are respected,“ he added.

He refuted allegations that the Normalisation Committee favoured certain candidates saying the Normalisation Committee was not a voter. It would be recalled a case is pending at the Chamber of Conciliation filed by Abduraman Hamadou kicking against the statutes adopted on August 5, notably article 23 b which he says is not in conformity with the law of 15 July 2011 governing the organisation of sports and physical education activities in Cameroon. The verdict is awaited on September 24.
