2016 AfCON: CRTV promised quality TV signal

Through its Chinese partner Star Times, the Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV) will acquire by September 10, 2016, the first two Off-Site Broadcasting Van (OBVAN) for the purposes of the competition.

This is one of the main resolutions of the second meeting on the production of the TV Signal at the next African Nations Cup of Women’s Football, the meeting that took place at the Office of the Minister of Sports and Physical Education in Yaounde.

Convened and chaired by the Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Local Organising Committee of Women AFCON 2016, the meeting was attended by Felix Zogo, Inspector General at the Ministry of Communication, Didier Kaba, Director of the Engineering in the same Ministry on behalf of the Minister of Communication Issa Tchiroma; Alain Belibi, Central Manager of CRTV – Radio and its employees on behalf of the General Manager of CRTV Charles Ndongo who could not be there.

Others present were Blaise Moussa the Secretary General of the Cameroon Football Federation and his collaborator Laurence Fotso on behalf of the President of the FECAFOOT Tombi Roko who was also absent; the Tournament Director Peter Noungui and his Deputy Teresa Chantal Manda; the President of the Communication Commission of COCAN 2016 Jean Lambert Nang and his employees.

After some exchanges, it emerged a willingness of stakeholders to work together to the success of the event scheduled from 19 November to 3 December 2016.

Also, CRTV has committed itself to producing the TV signal with Star Times, its Chinese partner from whom it will acquire by September 10, 2016, the first two “OBVAN” for the event.

The Minister of Sports and Physical Education welcomed the ironed out differences. Bidoung Mkpatt said: “The Women AFCON began already. It’s already playing in the communication plan.” … But assurances were given to meet the challenge and the challenge on that front.

A working session related to communication aspects of the AFCON is scheduled for next week in Yaounde during the CAF Inspection Mission, who shall abide in Cameroon from 25 July to 1 August 2016.
