The artistic display just after the Head of State, H.E. Paul Biya's opening of the competition was a blend of traditional dances and acrobatics.
The dances were graced with beautiful choreography from the four cultural zones of the country- the Sahel, Sawa, Fang Beti and Grassfields.
A major highlight was the dance with the mascot of the competition, Lily which sent the crowd screaming in excitement.
So did the independence dance which confirmed a united Cameroon in the midst of over 250 ethnic groups.
The dancers formed various symbols including the map of Cameroon.
The flags of the eight participating countries at the competition were also waved during the artistic display, a sign of warm welcome Cameroon's guests.
