AFCON 2016 : End of training camp in Buea

The Lionesses training camp in Buea from June 16 to 30 has ended yesterday and the team leaves for Yaoundé today for a few days of rest.

Officially closing the first training camp the Coach, Enow Ngachu told players that that training would continue till the Nations Cup and only the best would be selected to attain the objective of winning the competition from November 19-December 3.

He urged them to work hard even during the recess so as to maintained their form.

Meanwhile, the last test match played this morning saw the Lionesses draw level -1-1 match against Mount Cameroon Football Academy.

The goal for the Lionesses was scored by Mbengono Catherine in the first half of the encounter while Mount Cameroon equalized in the second half.

During their stay, the Lionesses played three other friendly matches, the first against Cinyodev boys and were defeated 2-1. They overpowered the SW selection 10-1 and Etow FC 11-0.

The team had visits from Cameroon international Njie Clinton and from the Governor of the SW region Bernard Okalia Bilai.

The team equally visited the palace of the paramount chief where the crown prince welcomed and advised them.

If the nothing changes the next training camp is scheduled for July 5, the venue would be announced later.
