AIBA threatens Cameroon over Boxing Olympic Qualifiers

The International amateur boxing federation, AIBA, has threatened to withdraw the organisation of the qualifiers for the 2016 Olympic Games from Cameroon.

The reason being that the Cameroon Boxing Federation has not honoured the financial engagements linked to the organisation of this competition.

According to the terms of the hosting rights, Cameroon was supposed to deposit the sum of 100,000 Swiss francs to AIBA before the hosting of the event but up to date; no franc has yet been deposited.

The qualifiers for the 2016 Olympic Games are supposed to take place in Yaounde in March next year but now a suspension mark has been placed over the organisation of this event because the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education is yet to foot the bill for the federation.
