Adoum Garoua expected by MPs

The Minister of Sports is eagerly awaited in the National Assembly for one of the most anticipated question times since the 2010 South Africa debacle, where his predecessor Michel Zoa, spoke of egos and exoteric practices within the Indomitable Lions.

Members line the corridors of the National Assembly ready to give Adoum Garoua the grilling of a lifetime.

"He will give us an explanation of the management team of the Indomitable Lions for which the state provides the means yet the results do not follow," said one MP.

In 2010 after the South African fiasco where the Lions had finished 31st of 32, Michel Zoa, Sports Minister at the time, found himself before the people's representatives.

It was on this occasion that he clearly diagnosed the disease of the Indomitable Lions with egos and exoteric practices. Since then nothing has been done and we ended up at the 2014 World Cup without healing the wounds of the previous World Cup.

The poor and shameful performance of the not so Indomitable Lions, which saw them embarrassingly eliminated in the first round of the World Cup held in Brazil, is of grave concern to Cameroonians.

As delegates touched down on home turf at dawn on Wednesday we are still left wondering the reasons behind the shambolic performance in a competition we have been waiting four years to play in.

The nation had high hopes for Cameroon as one of the most eagerly awaited teams in Brazil, but in three games played they suffered many defeats with nine goals conceded and only one scored.

They ranked last in Group A, with zero points, behind Brazil, Mexico and Croatia, a result which can only be described as catastrophic.

Questions concerning the causes of this sporting tragedy are still unanswered. Joseph Owona, the chairman of the Standards Committee Fécafoot, announced a press conference after his delegation returned home from Brazil.

Samuel Eto'o, captain of the Indomitable Lions, during a pre-match press conference in Brazil, said he will unpack to meet those who have made their attacks.

Since their return nothing seems to have been done and according to sources such meetings will no longer take place.
