Members of Ancien Bonas football club held their general assembly meeting recently in Yaounde to draw up a plan of action and to elect a new bureau to pilot the activities of the club in the next mandate.
In the elections that followed, Mofor Lionel was elected president and takes over from Abey Francis Ojong whose administration was accused of embezzlement and laxity which led some members to run away. As such the new president placed his mandate under that of reconciliation, accountability and concrete actions. He urged members to mobilize towards the successful organisation of the national veteran championship to be hosted by the club in Yaounde in 2013.
The Ancien Bonas football club was created over a decade ago by a group of graduates who used to reside in the university residential quarter known as Bonamoussadi in Yaounde with the objective of promoting solidarity and mutual assistance among members through the practise of football. The club engaged in the national veteran championship will be hosting the competition this year.
The general assembly also saw the suspension of some members for insubordination, non payment of dues and embezzlement.
