Mighty Be Forward Wanderers Cameroonian striker, Lionel Asu has threatened to cut ties with the club following disagreements over his contract.

Asu confirmed to Nyasa Times that he is intending to terminate his contract at the club after falling out with the coach.

"Yes it's true I am intending to terminate my contract with the club but I cannot say much about this now," Asu said. "I will make my position clear within the week."

The development comes after Wanderers coach, Eliah Kananji appealed to the executive committee to let the diminutive striker go for not being committed to the club.

Kananji argued that his behaviour could not have a negative impact on the rest of the players, but also the coach's game plan.

Wanderers General Secretary, Mike Butao also said the player was no special to the club after misusing the money intended for accommodation.

Butao said it was not fair for the club to accuse the club for failing to pay for accommodation at a lodge when he was given enough money to cater for a standard accommodation.

The Cameroonian has become a controversial figure since arriving at the club before the season started. He has boycotted training in a bid to bargain a better deal.

At one point the deal was set to fall through after demanding US$10,000 signing on fee but the Nomads managed to negotiate to get down to K3.5 million.
