Athletics head office renovated

The building hosting the services of the Cameroon athletics Federation has been renovated and furnished.

The inauguration of the renovated building took place on Saturday October 27th during which computers were distributed to all the ten regional leagues of athletics.

In what sounded like a campaign message, the president of the federation, Sebastian Mbous announced an ambitious programme to introduce athletics in schools. He equally announced an eventual contract with a sports equipment company in view of better dressing the athletes. Colonel Kalkaba Malboum who presided over the ceremony called for harmony within the athletics family in Cameroon.

Centre DIXIADES Athletes Selected

In view of the upcoming national games in Douala, the Centre regional League of the Cameroon Athletics Federation on Sunday October 28th organized a meeting at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaounde, to select athletes who will represent the region in the competition. The athletes competed in 11 athletics disciplines namely; 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500, 5000m races; long jump, high jump, shot put, triple jump and javelin throw in both the male and female categories. The competition was sponsored by Moise Evina, who offered cash prizes to the winners in each category. According to the president of the Centre League, Dieudonné Mbarga, emphases during the selection exercise was on youths as they constitute the bedrock for the development of athletics in the country.
