It took only (four) 4 minutes in the first half at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium for visiting Mbamboutos FC to score the winner goal that gave them a victory over Canon FC.
From a free kick poorly returned by the defense of Canon of Yaounde, the lone scorer of the day sent a shot that rested in Efala Komguep, Canon goalkeeper’s net.
Despite the opening goal, both sides continue to mobilized themselves in the pitch as supporters and fans poured in their own dozed of their encouragements from the stands.
Opportunities from the various sides could not yield any fruits as Canon failed to level scores at the sound of the whistle for the break.
Returning from the restroom, spectators were hoping to see a different Canon of Yaounde score and carry the day but it was not the case despite their domination.

The victory gave Bamboutos FC Mbouda their second conservative win and consequently topping the classification table with 6 points after their 4 – 1 win over Njalla Quan FC in the first leg.
Canon on their part received their first defeat after playing a 2-2 draw in the first leg against Panthere of Nde.
Both sides look forward for the third playing where Mbamboutos will face Unisport while Canon will confront Apejes in a regional derby.
The second day of play in the Cameroon professional league was not actually the best for some teams that started the race on a good footing.
Perhaps the most interesting news came from the Bamenda main stadium as Yong Sport Academic woke up so tall recording a 3 – 0 win over visiting Astres of Douala.
This victory was highly needed following the humiliating defeat in the hands of the newly promoted side Lion Blesseof Foutoune during the first day of the championship.
Another surprising victory came from Bafang as the newly promoted side Lion Blessé beat Union of Douala 1 – 0 to maintain their second victory in the championship.
UMS of Loum and Tonnerre recorded a goalless draw in Njombe while in an advanced day 2 in Yaounde, Coton Sport and Dragon separated on a 1 – 1 score.
