Prisons Social Club of Buea aka Home boys have been eliminated from the Southwest Region Mini Interpools tourney after losing on penalties against quarter-final opponents Botafogo AFC of Buea.

"We didn't lose the match because of the opponent, we lost it because of penalties," said Prisons coach Stephen Wose. "It's luck to win."

Botafogo won the shootout 5-3 after a 0-0 draw in Centenary Stadium, Limbe, and face EEMSA in Wednesday's semi-final.

Prisons Social club of Buea have dominated the match but showed some absence in finishing in front of goal. Richard Acho of Prisons Social Club came face to face with Osca Orock Eta, goalkeeper of Botafogo but was stopped by the goalkeeper at the 20th minute of the encounter.

The first half will end with both sides on a parity score of 0-0. However, it was the Home Boys who had most of the scoring chances but they failed to convert any of them.

Play will resume in the second half with Coach Lazare Bonia of Botafogo of Buea bringing in Eugene Tangwan popularly known as Shabalala to reinforce his attacking machinery. It was a good partnership from Tangwan and Fielding Kome but it however yielded no fruit as the pair failed to penetrate the Home boys Defence wall.

The match ended after 90 minutes of normal play time with both teams failing to find the back of the net.

Both teams will proceed directly on Penalty shootouts with Osca Eta of Botafogo AFC stopping Augustine Mayowe’s penalty to give his side the victory.
