Botiba named Performer of the Week

Skidmore College women's basketball senior forward Angela Botiba was named the Liberty League Performer of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.

Botiba led the Thoroughbreds to a 3-0 week, including a pair of conference wins, posting double-doubles against RIT and Vassar. She averaged 20 points per game, shooting 53% (23 for 44), 13 rebounds per game and 2.7 blocks per game for the week. She scored 19 points and pulled down 15 boards in Saturday's 78-66 win over Vassar and had 19 points, 15 rebounds, four blocks and two steals in Friday's win over RIT. She also scored a season-high 22 points to go along with nine rebounds and three blocks against Marietta College. She was also named the ECAC Division III Upstate Co-Player of the Week.

Botiba is averaging a double-double this season, ranking third in the conference in rebounds per game (11.0) and sixth in scoring (14.6 ppg). She is second in the league in field goal percentage (49.6%) and blocked shots per game (2.3).
